Who is a Good Candidate for an Arm Lift?

Most candidates for an arm lift in Beverly Hills experience excess, sagging tissue in their upper arms as a result of drastic weight loss, the natural aging process, or simply from genetic factors. Before undergoing an arm lift, you should be generally healthy overall and at a stable, healthy weight. It is also best that you be a nonsmoker. Dr. Ourian will review your health history and determine whether you are a suitable candidate for the procedure during a consultation.

What is Arm Lift Recovery Like?

After your arm lift, you will likely have dressings, bandages, and compression garments over your arms to help minimize swelling. Drains are typically not necessary.  Due to the anesthesia, you will need a trusted person, such as a friend or family member, to drive you home after the procedure.

During the recovery process, you can expect some swelling, bruising, and discomfort. Dr. Ourian will prescribe pain medication to you to help alleviate discomfort as you heal. Follow any directions regarding caring for your incisions as you heal. You will be able to shower 2 days after surgery.  Most patients require one week after their surgery before they return to work or other daily activities. You should refrain from more strenuous activities, like exercise routines, for up to six weeks. Dr. Ourian will monitor your healing during follow-up appointments.
