Who is a Good Candidate for Beverly Hills Rhinoplasty?

Most patients who are generally healthy but feel self-conscious of the appearance of their nose or have issues breathing due to problems such as a deviated septum will make good candidates for rhinoplasty. You may choose to undergo rhinoplasty to alter your nose in one or more of the following ways:

  • Creating a smaller or larger nose
  • Reshaping the nasal tip
  • Narrowing the nostrils
  • Straightening the nasal bridge
  • Changing the angle or projection of the nose
  • Correcting a deviated septum

Which Procedures Can Be Paired with Rhinoplasty?

Making changes to one facial feature effects the overall balance of your entire face. For this reason, some patients choose to pair other facial procedures with their rhinoplasty to complement their results.

You may wish to alter the lips along with your nose. This can be achieved with lip fillers, which is a surgical procedure to increase the size of the lips or change their shape. Alternatively, a lip lift can be paired with a rhinoplasty, which raises the position of the lips to be closer to the nose and make the top lip appear slightly larger.

You may also choose to alter or repair the ears at the same time as your rhinoplasty. Dr. Ourian offers ear pinning, or otoplasty, to change the projection of the ears or make them appear smaller. Earlobe repair is an increasingly popular procedure as well, which can be chosen to correct torn or stretched earlobes. As a relatively simple surgery, some patients decide to pair earlobe repair with their rhinoplasty so that they can recover from each procedure at the same time.

Lastly, some patients may decide to have a chin implant placed at the time of a rhinoplasty. Some patients have a protruding nose, with a small chin, which makes the nose appear larger. A chin implant can augment the size of the chin for a more harmonious balance of the entire face.

What is Rhinoplasty Recovery Like?

Dr. Ourian’s signature Beverly Hills nose job is an outpatient procedure, meaning that you may return home the same day that you have the procedure. However, you need to have a trusted caretaker, such as a friend or family member, who can drive you home and assist you through the early stages of recovery. Swelling is expected especially in the first month or so after the procedure, with residual minor swelling lasting for up to one year after surgery. It is also relatively common to experience bruising around the nose and eyes, which should only last for a few weeks after the surgery. Ice packs or cold compresses can be used to help relieve swelling, discoloration, and discomfort. In addition, you will be prescribed medication to alleviate any discomfort during the initial healing process. Finally, you will likely need to wear a splint in the for the first week after surgery to aid in proper healing.

How Much Does a Rhinoplasty Cost in Beverly Hills?

As is the case with any cosmetic procedure, the cost of a rhinoplasty varies depending on several factors including the surgeon’s level of expertise and the geographic location. Dr. Ourian’s patient concierge will be able to give you a more accurate cost of your rhinoplasty in Los Angeles during a consultation at our Beverly Hills office.
