Who is a Good Candidate for Pectoral Implants?

Before choosing Beverly Hills pectoral implants, you should be reasonably healthy overall, including being at a healthy and stable weight. You should also have realistic goals for the procedure. Dr. Ourian will review your goals and examine the treatment area to advise whether pectoral implants are the best option for you. Finally, men considering pectoral implants should be non-smokers, as smoking interferes with the healing process.

How is Pectoral Implant Surgery Performed?

Dr. Ourian’s Beverly Hill pectoral implants are placed under general anesthesia. First, an incision is made in the armpit, areola, or lower part of the breast. Then, Dr. Ourian will create a pocket under the pectoralis major (the larger chest muscle) or just below the connective tissue that covers the muscle. When this is complete, the implant is inserted into the pocket and secured using dissolvable sutures. Following these steps, the incisions are closed using sutures. The entire procedure typically takes about 1-1.5 hours to complete.

About Pectoral Implants

Pectoral implants are composed of flexible and soft solid silicone, and they are overall similar to breast implants used in breast augmentations but are firmer to the touch. Pectoral implants are available in a range of shapes and sizes to suit the proportions of many men and their overall goals for the procedure. Dr. Ourian will make a recommendation regarding the size implant that will best meet your needs. Implants are designed to look and feel like natural muscle, but placing them below the pectoral muscle further enhances the natural appearance of your results.

What is Pectoral Implant Recovery Like?

After your pectoral implant procedure, you can expect some swelling and discomfort. Dr. Ourian will prescribe you a pain medication to help you remain comfortable during the early stages of healing. Most patients require about 3 to 7 days to rest at home before they are ready to return to work, unless their job is more strenuous or physically demanding. Dr. Ourian may give you instructions regarding wearing a compression garment through your recovery. It is best to rest with your chest elevated as much as possible. Most patients can see their final results and return to all normal activity, such as their exercise routine, after about six weeks. Dr. Ourian will monitor your healing and give you specific instructions for your recovery process through follow-up appointments.

What Procedures Can I Combine with Pectoral Implants?

Patients who choose pectoral implants to achieve a more muscular and defined look may also be interested in abdominal etching. Abdominal etching is a liposuction procedure which strategically removes fat to enhance a “six-pack abs” look. This can be paired with pectoral implants to give a more complete enhancement and muscular, athletic appearance.

Liposuction can be used in other areas of the body for men choosing pectoral implants as well. Some of the most common areas where men choose liposuction include the abdominal area, hips, flanks, or back. This creates a toned and fit appearance through the body and can complement the look of pectoral implants.

How Much Do Pectoral Implants in Beverly Hills Cost?

The final cost of your Beverly Hills pectoral implant procedure will depend on factors including the size and type of implant you have chosen and the extent of your surgery.  Dr. Ourian’s patient concierge will give you a more specific cost estimate after your consultation appointment.
